Do you like to be chained? To be deprived of walking or doing what you like? To be imprisoned in a cage?

None of us like to be chained. We all like to be free. To keep our hands and legs free so that we can move them. It’s really sad that some people don’t understand that animals too like that.  They think that animals are feeling less objects or perhaps they might like to torture them and make fun, without knowing the fact that they will undergo the same pain in the not so long future.

I believe if that animal is untamed or extremely dangerous unchained then it should be chained if only we need to keep it under humans, if not we should let them be free on their own place, free in the jungle.

Have you ever seen a face of a dog when it’s chained? Urging for freedom, pleading mercy….

I thought of writing about this because that I can’t unchain my own dog. My parents want it chained though it’s a cross breed of Pomeranian, which is a very friendly and lovable breed. They love to be with people, lie beside their master’s couch or bed. They are not like hounds, not much big and wild. I really soooo want him unchained, but I am helpless. I can’t go against my parents. Even they don’t want to give it away to someone who really loves the dog.

You might think I am crazy or a retard asking for dog’s rights. Yeah that’s me. I can’t stand for the cruelty to the animals. If you have a dog and if it’s tamed and not dangerous then leave it free. Give it the freedom. At least give it some enough space to live, without buying a small cage. If you don’t have space at your home, walk it to the street or town. Be with it and love it.  When I am with my dog I forget all the troubles I have. Though they can’t talk they still listen to us for what we have to say.

Make your dog your best friend; you won’t regret it……

Yes, at last I have completed my uni life, under-grad studies. Three years passed without knowing, time flies. Had nice time with new friends in new place, it was terrific. Gained lot of knowledge, experience and joy during this time. Gone through tough time doing assignments, projects with my batch mates. We shared win,loose,joy and sorrow together. Had many ups & downs, mis-understandings when working together. After all we are humans, they do make mistakes. None is perfect.

My life changed by the time, learned many things from friends. Best thing happened is getting to know Linux and starting to fell in love with it. Thank goes to my geek friends chanux and seejay. We did many great things to promote FOSS at uni and out side, feel really proud for those achievements and memories, those memories will never fade away.

Also I met a great friend, Nisal who guided me to light when I was wandering in dark. He showed me the truth, well it’s kinda long story which I am gonna crack you later. By the way my last post is related to that truth I found.

I have to admit that the uni is the place that get me into people, I couldn’t meet many people, friends at my school time. Here I met many friends came around the island with great blend of talents and skills. It was really tough, exams, presentations and all that, but I have to admit that I never quit entertainment (like watching movies. ). Any how managed to do it as well.

Well telling about something bad happened through this years is that I get addicted to FB. It doesn’t mean that been social media addict is that bad, but the FB? Damn, I am thinking how to deactivate it all the time, but I have no better option to keep in touch with my friends. Just watched “The social Network”. So thought of mentioning that here. But I am kinda in love with twitter.

Gotta tell you folks, who are willing to enter into uni, no matter what your field is you gotta give your best shot. But never loose your life, I mean you live as a human, without been an asshole running to be the first. Hope you got it. Help others to step ahead as best as you could, so you can put your step ahead. I used to encourage myself to catch up with daily work in my school days, never happened. Did same thing at uni, doing nothing in the beginning and studying the ass off when the exams get close. It’s quite fun though.

Gosh 3 years gone…and its all over. I made it at last, becoming a graduate. What’s next? That’s the question running in my mind these days…a job may be? Feel like I just stepped into real life and now start living…

When we see an object…..oops sorry my bad. Let’s take a girl as an example.  We find that she’s hot, sexy, romantic, naughty etc. but did we ever thought whether that hotness is really in her body or in our mind? I’ll show you from an example. Let’s say your g.friend is so hot, sexy and your mom consider too much about disciplines. Think about a situation where your g.friend starts dancing half nude in your house. What things will come to your mind? I doubt whether you’ll remember about your mom at that time.

What comes to your mind is that she’s so damn hot and you start dance with her. Rest I leave it to you to decide.

But when your mom comes there, what comes to her mind is that your g.friend is a dirty slut and you know the rest. She gets too much temper and get into your gal.

How come two different people think about same object (girl) in 2 ways if that object is specific? If we define her as a TOTALLY HOT object, how come some other define her as an annoying object? Whose appearance might cause them loose their temper?

Let me give you another example. Assume your mom reveals that your g.friend is the murder of your father or some one you loved so much. What comes to your mind? Will that girl be the same HOT object as earlier or you get damn anger on her?

It’s just because that your mind decide about the object from its appearance and you feel that the object is HOT or sexy. That’s why you like the girl you pass by and your friend doesn’t perhaps.

When you understand this you’ll realize that your eyes have been deceiving you until now, that you were stuck in an illusion thinking that objects are really worth and you crave them because you believed that there’s something in them. But really they haven’t. Your mind misleads you and will do forever if you don’t believe this.

You might have a doubt whether this is a green woodpecker. Yes it really is. I remember a cartoon I used to watch in my small days, when I saw this bird. Hope you guys know it. The “woody woodpecker”.  I have posted few photos of green woodpecker building its home recently on Flickr.

Few days ago I heard a bird scream inside that cage. So I thought of checking what’s going on there. I just climb up the tree to see this cuddly baby woody.

Since the mother/father woodpecker was really upset of my sudden approach it flew away. But I saw it watching me from near by tree. So I thought of not watching the baby bird again. I was curious to see the baby bird. Mother or Father Woodpecker always stays in the cage with the baby. They both never leave the baby alone, since they have threat from random snakes.

I saw a snake trying to climb the tree one day. Mother/father woodpecker was staring at the snake all the time keeping its head out of the cage. There is a lot to learn from these birds, since some human mothers left their children on street right after giving them birth.

And this is a great example of mothers love, whether it’s human or inhuman.

I was thinking what the hell that mother/father woodpecker was doing all day long inside that small room with the baby. Then I realized that’s the protection and love towards the baby which keeps it home. Nature is simply amazing. We have hell of things to learn from these creatures of the nature.

I wish this kind of thing would never happen to my baby woodpecker.

My mind runs through various things,

many imaginations at once,

but there’s nothing I can use,

all are deep shit…try me.

Eyes seen hell of things and keep on,

many illusions in this artificial world,

well most of them are sweet,

ask me about the girls…..

Ears are filled with noises,

screaming, thunder, f**k you’s, love you’s,

never get rid of them until I become deaf,

wearing ‘eau de toilette’ or ‘the toilet smell’,

it almost suffocates me to death.

You fill up my senses on bed,

so sorry I was drunk unconscious,

It has been 2599 years since Lord Buddha’s parinibbana (death). Tomorrow is Wesak full moon poya day, from which start the year of 2599. Next year will be the 2600th year. It makes really sad when it seems that we all heading to the darkness again. Far beyond the light that Lord Buddha taught before 2600years ago. But yet we are not totally screwed up, the worst is yet to come. We all loosing the fact that everything on this earth is not the way we like it. Though we crave for something, though our immense desire will get what we want, one day we’ll feel a hole in it. We might feel this is not enough or that’s not what we really want.

Buddhism is not taught as a religion. It’s a philosophy, rather it’s the conventional truth that none can ever break. If you think I am bulshitting let me know if any scientist ever proves a teaching of Lord Buddha is wrong.  People think Buddhism has many laws to follow and it’s a mess. Buddhism gives the freedom to choose, not by force. But from your own. People think that they are Buddhists since their parents are called as Buddhists, and they put label on themselves as Buddhists. A Buddhist is not the person who tell he is, but the one who believes that every effect has a cause. Though your parents are not Buddhists and if you believe in that, you are a Buddhist.

What we hear now as dhamma is mostly modified or corrupted. Since most of us are not willing to believe what we know is false, no one will consider. But what we need to do is use dhamma practically and reveals ourselves what is the truth. We don’t want to follow or believe anyone but our own practice.

The real anapanasathi meditation technique.

The real anapanasathi is not just breathing conscious. As the Lord Buddha’s dhamma it is, knowing when ever we get desire (raga), anger (dwesha) and dumbness/blindness (moha). Catching relevant imagination is called getting breath in, which means understand the bad effect of sticking to those feelings and good effect of getting rid of those. And getting rid of these feelings is called breath out. Well you might not believe me now, since I just made a change to the traditional anapanasathi meditation method that you used to know.

Lord Buddha told us not to believe what we hear, but to know the truth through practice. If u still doubt, let me know the result you gain by just breathing in and out conscious? I must admit that it really makes your mind relaxed and so calm, no doubt on that. But that’s not what we really need. We need to get rid of this loop, the repetition, the life cycle. But why??? Why we should end this life? Am I nuts?? Leave this beautiful world?? This amazing life?? Yeah why should we??

Yes you are correct. This world and life we live is so damn beautiful, amazing, and fabulous. But let me know what we get after all? Eventually we all die. Death doesn’t count weather you’re the president or you’re the most powerful human on earth. Do we take any gatherings we had in our life when we die? Money? Educational certificates? Potential? Beauty or properties? What really matters is what we do and what our attitude is. Nothing else matters.

A way to go my friends. Wish you all success in finding the light……….

Recently a baby tortoise came to our garden on a rainy day. Yes I took a photograph of it to show you guys. I gave it a name, “Jumbi”. What you think about the name? Yes I really wanted to keep it with me, but my parents didn’t allow me. My bad luck. 

Since there were many canals in our area there were so many of them living peacefully. But recently most of the canals were used for new housing schemes and the rest are almost contaminated as they are used as dump. This is a disaster. Not only tortoise, most of the indigenous species lived in those watery environments were destroyed, specially fishes and amphibious species.

Now tortoise don’t have place to live. They keep wandering allover on rainy days. And it’s sad to hear that people kill this innocent reptile for meat. Yes you read correct, for meat. Most of the people think that they get strong by tortoise meat. How foolish this people???

Ever saw a tortoise gone flat on a road??? Well I have seen many times in our area.

Mostly on rainy days they come out from their hidden places and wander every where. And vehicles run over them. It’s sad to see dead on the road. Well what can I do to stop them dying?  I can’t at least keep one as a pet. Can I stop people build houses over this reptile’s living space?

I can do one thing. Keep watching……

This kind of monkeys are called Bonnet Macaque , widely spread in South India.

Have broader intellectual capacity than other species of monkeys. can be trained to do various tasks.

In Sri Lanka there are so many trained monkeys entertaining people. Not reported as harmful. Much like to live close to human civilizations.
